ITV are due to launch a brand new teleshopping / bingo / game show named (The Zone) on their flagship TV channel ITV1. It is due to air at midnight each day and run for around two hours. The Zone is due to feature a number of different activities including home shopping in conjunction with QVC and games like bingo and roulette.
At present most (past midnight) TV shows aired on ITV1 are simply repeats, so coming up with a new concept like (The Zone) may just be a good idea. ITV recently re-launched a bingo site on the net and this time they decided to go with cashcade (ex owners of Foxy Bingo) to market their bingo wares etc.
The Zone is only really possible due to the relaxation of the laws by Ofcom surrounding these kinds of shows last year. The bigwigs behind ITV plan to run The Zone on a 6 month trial period to see how it goes, lets just hope this one stands the test of time and does not end up in the bingo zin bingo like ITV’s first bingo show – Bingo Night Live.
Although, I have to say the Zone is nothing like what Bingo Night Live was all about and a combination concept should appeal to a number of viewers and not just the bingo elite.
As reported by the guardian – William van Rest, controller of TV shopping and gaming at ITV said, “This is an exciting new development for ITV created by a change in regulatory rules. We are keen to trial a range of opportunities to develop a potentially valuable new revenue stream.”
ITV had a major shake up of their organisation last year, as did many other TV networks. Consumer confidence in TV phone in game shows has been at an all time low over the past few years after a number of phone in scandals hit the headlines. Which is why you now see TV presenters give you a deadline when phoning in on any vote or TV show…………because votes will not be cast after that time, but you may still be charged for the call.
It will be interesting to see just how the viewing public take to the Zone, which will be hitting our TV screens shortly.

There has been lots of online bingo action and revelations going on behind the scenes lately! Tombola Bingo have decided to sponsor Sunderland FC, along with casting new players from their site to star in new Emmerdale TV bumpers. These are due to hit our TV screens later on in the year, with filming taking place at the end of the month.
Cashcade the name behind Foxy Bingo renewed their contract with Dragonfish the B2B division of 888.com and this is not the only deal B2B have struck over the past week. Prime Gaming who first established themselves on the net in 2003 have also been in talks with Dragonfish and this ended in them signing a deal this week for B2B to provide them with a comprehensive bingo solution for two brand new (standalone) online bingo sites.
In the five years since prime gaming have been operating they have released a number of different gaming brands all with the (prime) logo attached and these have included casino, sratchcards, backgammon and poker. So it looks like online bingo is going to be the next big thing from the prime gaming group, but just how they are going to fair in this market remains to be seen.
Prime Gaming recently launched an online bingo site on the net called (bingo yard). But this was a skin on the Dragonfish bingo network and the two new sites planned are due to be standalone. This was good to see because we could well do without more bingo sites launching on this particular network, as it is pretty much already flooded as it is.
A networked online bingo site brings players the same online bingo deals, offers, game play, promotions, etc. So other than them being called a different name and having their owned designed homepage, they offer nothing new……….quite annoying really!
Networked online bingo sites are all well and good in their own right, but as I have always said – Give me a standalone bingo site to play at any day of the week.
And last but by no means least, Mecca Bingo recently signed a deal which gave them the rights to (Britain’s got Talent) branding, so a new online bingo room is now planned to open at their site in the not so distant future.

The cashcade group owners of Foxy Bingo and now a subsidery of PartyGaming (since being bought out) have renewed their bingo solution contract with Dragonfish – Part of the of 888 Ladies Bingo group.
We have been reliably informed that a brand new software bingo product is in the pipeline for Foxy Bingo and this is apprantly being built exclusively for them by the tech bods at PartyGaming. But this of course will take some time before it is ready and it will have to be fully test drove first. Estimantions are that is will be another year or so before it would be ready to go live.
So in the meantime it looks like Foxy Bingo and co will be sticking with bingo software provided for them effectively by their rivals, 888. The contract between 888’s B2B division (dragonfisih) and cashcade it set to run until May 2014, but even if Foxy does switch software products during this time, they still have a lot more bingo sites on the net running on dragonfish / globalcom software.
These currently include Think Bingo, Bingo Scotland, Cheeky Bingo, Getminted Bingo, Little Big Bingo and Foxy Zero. Out of all their online bingo sites, Foxy Bingo has always remained their (main stay) site and it is now a household name within the UK – As the same cannot be said for the likes of Think Bingo and Little Big Bingo etc.
However the fact that Foxy Bingo is a UK name known by most households is largely down to the massive advertising campaigns that they have been on throughout the years. When they first launch on the net they even associated themselves with glamour girl (Jordan) aka Katie Price – now (ried), however this partnership did not last long and when Katie’s contract was up they parted ways, reportedly because of she was asking for too much money at the time.
Other than virtue fusion bingo software, globalcom has got to be one of the most popular online bingo software products on the net with players. The ease of game play and graphics from globalcom is great, the only thing it really lacks in is variations of bingo games as it only currently offers either 90 ball or 75 ball bingo. Fix this and I would say they will rival virtue once again.

Foxy Bingo could arguably be the (Media Guru) of the online bingo industry, as they have never been ones to shy away from the publicity limelight! When Foxy Bingo first launched on the net they signed a deal with glamour girl (Jordon) aka Katie Price, to be the face of their online bingo site – along with Mr Fox of course and just like Katie, Foxy Bingo have been in the UK public domain ever since.
In just under five years Foxy Bingo have become a household name within the UK and you do not get to that status without putting on some massive publicity campaigns. So when the Katie Price partnership come to an end, Foxy Bingo went on to sponsor some very popular daytime TV shows – namely Jeremy Kyle.
They have also run numerous online bingo TV adverts throughout the years, with the latest one taking on the theme tune from Grease (you’re the one that I want). Magazines, newspapers, Radio, TV – You name it and Foxy Bingo have been on it, which has helped put them in the position they are today……….one of the top bingo sites on the net.
Foxy Bingo even rivals some of the biggest names within the bingo industry, such as Gala Bingo and Mecca Bingo. Both bingo giants and both running successful online bingo sites, but neither of them has as many bingo rooms open to select from as Foxy Bingo do.
In fact Foxy Bingo boast over 40 bingo rooms at their site……………..more than any other online bingo site on the net. Foxy Bingo has used their real life online bingo players in the making of some of their TV bingo adverts and we know that their advertising campaign budget runs in the millions each year.
This may or may not continue to be the case though once the team at Party Gaming take over the realms of running their site. Foxy Bingo were owned by the Cashcade group, but as we know Party Gaming bought them out in a multi million pound deal last year.
At present Foxy Bingo run on globalcom bingo software, but a new software product is in the pipeline for their site…………although as to whether this will ever come into effect, remains to be seen.

If you are a registered player at Foxy Bingo online, just like me and thousands of their members you would probably have received a Foxy Bingo Friends magazine in the post at some point during the past few weeks. So it looks like Foxy Bingo are going on a new bingo initiative and this time it is being delivered direct to your front doors.
The Foxy Bingo friends mag had a total of 16 pages and of course it was filled with all things ( Foxy Bingo) related. Members who received this magazine could have took foxy up on a special deposit £5, get £10 free bonus code…………..but this was only valid until 31st March.

The part that I picked up on was (celebrate foxy’s 5th Birthday) and by the looks of things the World Cup will not be the only thing going on this June………….so if you are going to become a world cup football widower for a few weeks……………..checking out just what Foxy Bingo have got planned might be a good idea……….all we can tell you at this stage is that it is going to be big!
All in all I liked the new Foxy Bingo friends magazine, however if you are not into Foxy Bingo online in a big way……..it may be something that you just dumped in the recycling bin! Not a good move though, as you would have missed out on some great offers.
