Fans and Cast alike have known for quite some time now that new Coronation Street bossman was going to shake things up quite a bit and when I say shake things up, I mean as in axe a load of characters and throw in some terribly terrific story lines.
It seems that Vicky Entwistle has got as much as a load mouth and ‘take no nonsense’ personality as her character Janice Battersby; well according to the Sun newspaper, Vicky caused a scene and made a grand departure from a soap meeting, with Phil Collinson (new boss), last Friday.
Apparently, Vicky didn’t agree and did not want to go ahead with the story lines that Collinson wanted to go push on with – so after, what must have been a huge disagreement (in nice words) Vicky made her exit.
Even if she has been a part of the Corrie soap for over 13 years, the final say is always down to the boss. This information was leaked to the Sun newspaper when a source revealed,
“They had a furious row last week after Vicky demanded to know why her name had been scribbled off call sheets.”
Sadly this incident concluded the decision that “they couldn’t work together and Vicky felt she had no choice than to resign.”
Still, even though that is not the way that Vicky probably would have wanted to leave the soap, she is still looking for the good in it all, insisting that she has been “thinking about leaving for some time” now so that she could take on different works, so I suppose this was a little kick in the right direction.
It’s true that us Corrie fans shall miss Janice Battersbys, as well as the other older long term characters on the soap – but this is what Collinson thinks will be a grand hit, hopefully his right otherwise he is going to get a lot of smug looks of the cast members he axed.

When actors leave soap shows, it has become somewhat of a tradition that most of them don’t tend to leave peacefully or quietly, but go out with a bang. We have seen some explosive episodes over the years and by the sounds of things corrie has got more lined up during the coming months.
So who’s going to be leaving the show with heaps of left behind drama? Well we have heard that shall be the character of Molly Dobbs who has been played by Vicky Binns for the last 5 years!
Even though her parting of the show is supposed to be tragic, the actress has said that she’s ok with it all and glad that her experience with Coronation Street has “been a joy”.
Molly’s ending in the soap, as of yet, is unknown and it will probably stay that way until her final day comes and we will watch that action unfold on our TV screens.
Although, Phil Collinson, who is the executive producer of Corrie, wrote a comment on the soaps official web page explaining that he doesn’t “want to give too much away” but there shall be a “dead body” turning up in the soap and hopefully the storyline turns out to be really “surprising and exciting”.
He also mentioned that this final storyline for Vicky’s character, Molly, will be taking place across the next year – so we still get to see how her love triangle/ pregnancy situation progresses and hopefully we will find out who the real father is too –Tyrone or Kevin?
Plus and that’s a question, if Molly is going to die at the end of this storyline, who is going to take care of her child or will her child die with her? Well Female First picked up on a rumour, that apparently after her tragic death, both Kevin and Sally will “take in the baby after Molly is killed”.
Though, I suppose we will just have to wait and see what happens – and at least Vicky knows that her characters baby will have a decent life, even though her character doesn’t know that yet!

All Corrie fans should know that at the end of this year, it is ‘Coronation Streets‘ 50th Anniversary or 50th Birthday – however you want to put it, so obviously all actors and actresses for that show will be really busy around that time in the month of December; including Kym Marsh.
Well I bet you’re wondering why I have included this actress and that is because until recently hers and her boyfriend’s (Jamie Lomas – an ex actor from Hollyoaks) wedding was actually set to take place on the same week as Corrie’s 50th anniversary.
So as you can imagine, if she went ahead with her wedding with that particular date she would have a very busy schedule and to be honest probably won’t be able to enjoy either of the celebrations half as much, as if they were at completely separate times.
So luckily enough the pair have pulled out from that and postponed their wedding, so they now won’t be getting married until next year, although the date of this has not yet been confirmed.
Actually this little setback could have been fate! Why? Well that’s because in January (as Kym explained to OK! Magazine) Jamie is supposed to fly off to LA for “pilot season” and that’s where he’ll be trying out for new American TV shows. Kym thinks this is a good “opportunity” for Jamie and went on to say
“it would have meant that if we did get married in December, we wouldn’t have a chance for a honeymoon.”
Now that would be a disaster! At least this way, the pair will be able to celebrate the Corrie celebrations in December, hope for the best that Jamie gets a job on a new American TV show and then they’ll be able to have their dream wedding with a honeymoon followed shortly after. Yes, it looks like this setback will come out better than their original plans!

Todd Carty who, as we all know used to play Mark Fowler in the Eastenders soap but left back in the year of 2003 (after spending 18 longs year in the square) with a storyline that said he was HIV positive.
Since then we have famously seen him appear in another soap – The Bill – and he also appeared on Dancing on Ice last year; how could we forget! No-one could forget those silly, absolutely hilarious performance stunts that he pulled off!
Here is a quote that Female First picked up on from something he said in the past about his actions on the Dancing on Ice stage,
“I’m an actor…so, of course I was performing. I wanted to bring fun and humour to the show – people can take these things too seriously. I thought from the start ‘lets take the Mickey out of it’, make it light-hearted. All the viewers just hope the contestants fall on their backsides. It’s entertainment, it isn’t the Olympics.”
Very well put, I must say.
But now the 46 year old star is thinking about joining in with Coronation Street, who are in fact Eastenders rival soap in the business and there is just one part he wouldn’t say no to, if Corrie offered him it – “Maybe some young cockney wide boy who comes up, you’ve had a few of them in the past – maybe a new generation of London lad comes in. Anyway, give them my number just in case.”
Well if Corrie does want Todd to join their stream of characters on the show, they’ll have to include this “London lad” in the selection and, well, like Tony said, they’ve got his number now so all they need to do to get in contact with him is call, and he’ll be at the set within minutes!
I actually think Todd would be good in corrie.

Bosses of Coronation Street are on the lookout for some fresh good looking chaps to walk the streets of Corrie, but they are looking for something a bit particular.
They think it’s about time they shook things up in town and add something that Corrie has been lacking lately; here are the words that the producer of the show, Phil Collins, said to the Daily Star Newspaper,
“I think we are missing a really good heartthrob. And there’s also room for a new, tough good-looking villain.”
Well if that is what the producer wants, that is what the producer will get but I wonder who these new faces will be? Someone the industry is familiar too or a completely new face – well we will soon find out.
It’s true though every soap does need a “heartthrob” that the female audience can take their liking too and village bad boy that all the men relate or pretend to relate to, plus there hasn’t been a new face for a while so why not feel up some of the vacant houses with some eye candy.
Guess who’ll be returning to the show? Only the town’s latest bad boy (criminal) Tony Gordon who will return to Corrie after serving a murder charge in prison.
But why would he return to Corrie, his old home but a place where he doesn’t really belong anymore…to get revenge maybe? Could that revenge involve his ex-wife? In fact it does, but he takes her staff down with her as he holds them all as hostage but what will he really want?
You can bet that storyline will be panning out to something bigger and then it will really be the end of Tony Gordon’s (Gary O’Brien) time in Corrie, so the familiar faces are definitely going to need a new “villain” to keep them on toes and a good guy to save the day and hopefully live happily ever after. But with all these soaps track records, that probably won’t happen.

Sadly, on Monday we learned that poor Deirdre’s mother had died whilst in Portugal on Coronation St, so no wonder she was in tears when she found out. Especially after holding a welcome home get-together for when he mother arrived home.
Seeing as Deirdre couldn’t say her last goodbyes to her blessed old mum, she decides with Ken that they will travel to Portugal so that she can be in the last place that her mother was. However, when the couple arrive at the holiday destination, they find a bit more than what they bargained for.
Blanche must have known that Deirdre would go to home abroad, so she left her a little letter with jobs to be done and a goodbye.
Ken finds the letter tonight in the holiday home so obviously once Deirdre gave it a look over you can bet she’ll go into hysteria – all those contained and bottled up feelings finally coming out. To top it all off, it comes that time when all the funeral arrangements are being made and because of Deirdre’s state, it looks as if Peter will be making all of those arrangements himself.
As we know Maggie Jones, who played (Blanch) died in real life in December 2010 at the age of 75 after a short illness. So the bosses at Coronation St have waited until the time was right for her to leave the street also.
Let’s not forget about Norris and Mary’s recently odd trip, where we literally saw Mary keeping Norris as a hostage in the most unseen way as possible (to Norris’s eyes not ours), well that was until he clocked on and gained the courage to find a phone and ring the police.
So tonight Norris is making his statement about what happened on the trip, and because of his nature you can bet he was having a whale of a time to be in the making of getting Mary jailed.
But that merry circumstance doesn’t last for long once Norris finds out that Mary has in fact been released and is a free woman until further notice – if only the Corrie characters could have witnessed what we, the public, did when Norris was trapped with Mary.

Finally John revealed his teaching plans to Fizz on Monday night’s episode of Corrie, but obviously the red-haired character didn’t take the news to well. Would anyone be alright about hearing that kind of news though – say your loved one walked in and then proposed that he is going to use someone else’s identity when he applies for a teaching job.
Fizz just knows he’ll get caught by the police and will end up back prison, so as she doesn’t want to lose her partner for the second time she pleads with him to no go ahead with his dumb plan.
Well John may have been a great teacher but his definitely not all that clever when it comes to listening to Fiz – that’s right he applied for the job anyway and obviously Fiz got furious.
Now it seems that after Fizz had a chat with Ken, John’s over-exaggerated excitement is pulling her more and more into the scenario without caring about how illegal it is anymore (and that’s what you’ll see tonight being revealed in this drastic story).
It was without doubt that John would get the job for his new teaching position tonight, so the waves of joy that were already radiating from him are going to increase even more in his household.
The happiness for the situation doesn’t last for very long though as on Friday’s episode something pops up that could effectively reveal John’s real identity and all the lies he made in the process, all on his very first day back at teaching! So don’t forget to watch Friday’s showing this week if you want to find out what could destroy John’s teaching dreams on his first day in a new school.
Plus this Corrie storyline is carrying on into to next week so stay tuned to see what has planned for John’s lies. They question has also been raised as to whether Coronation St is teaching people about identity theft, as that is exactly what John is doing, or are corrie just making the public more aware of the identity theft situation which is already rife in the UK?

There’s going to be a lot of drama in Corrie tonight, so don’t expect many smiling faces on your TV screen – especially when they screen a clip of Gail in her new home…prison.
From the spoilers we have read, we will all witness Gail “struggling” to cope with her ‘jail bird’ situation; poor Gail, she really is so fragile and innocent, why would anyone want to lock the Corrie character up. We all know she didn’t kill her husband; so maybe we should launch a campaign to free Gail………..Well it worked when Deidre got locked up if you remember!
At the time people we outraged at Deidre being put in prison for a crime (we all knew) she did not commit……….similar to the position Gail is in know you could say.
Last night’s episode of Corrie let us witness Jason carelessly quit his job – that should be a lesson to us all, when we’re in a “foul” mood to not be around our bosses; we may do something we’ll regret later just as Jason did. So tonight we’ll be seeing a more drunken side of Jason and in this state he’ll realise his actions last night were wrong and try to say sorry to his boss.
Although, obviously, Bill has got no patience left for Jason and therefore is not going to listen to a word he has to say; some more bad luck for Jason and it doesn’t stop there either.
Further on into the night for the 8:30pm episode, Jason wakes up from his accident without an ounce of memory of his and Tina’s split (yes he still thinks their together). Plus his stubbornly refusing to believe of Eileen’s account; this really has not been the best of weeks for Jason. Quitting his job, getting drunk, apologising and begging for his job, having an accident and then a small case of Amnesia – no I would say a very poor week for him.
But to brighten the mood a little bit, we’ll see Sunita try and convince Dev to purchase the house down the street; whether he’ll go for the plan is a completely different story altogether, so you’ll just have to tune in tonight and watch their split hour episode!

Tonight’s episode of Corrie has got all the elements of a great performance lined up and lucky us, we get to watch it all in action. They’ve got dilemmas, prison, anger, reunions, reactions, lies and hurting…and all of that is just in the first 30 minutes of Coronation Street; what more can you want to make this show its all time best?
Last week we all saw that Gail get sentenced to prison until July time…….in wait for her trial and so of course she is going to be on screens tonight and yes she of course is involved with the prison element.
One of the scenes in tonight’s episode is where Audrey and David go to visit Gail in prison and in front of our very eyes we see her “snap” as the TV guide quotes. There is no saying ‘look on the bright side’ or ‘every grey cloud has a silver lining’ to Gail in the situation she’s in and it seems that Corrie has got more misery lined up for Gail when she meets her new cell mate! I wonder how that one will plan out as we all know how fragile Gail is.
Moving on from that dreary scene to something a little bit brighter, there’s going to be a little shock for a few of the citizens in Coronation Street when Tyrone and Mollie announce that they gwtting back together.
Although Kevin is the one who gets himself into a state about the whole situation, Bill starts him off into this panic. Who would have thought after all this time Kevin still got him on edge when Tyrone and Mollie are together, the reunion may have been a surprise for him but his reaction definitely was not a surprise to us!
Plus John is on the verge to return back to his teaching days, but worried sick that the web of lies his been telling is about to bite him in the back – well he should have told the truth from the start shouldn’t he. Then to end it off someone Corrie had the nerve to speak out an un-thought of comment to Janice and she obviously gets upset by it…wonder who that one will be? The answers are all in tonight’s show!

Well what a line up Coronation Street has got tonight – a murder suspect, premature thoughts and even a dumping; quite a lot for just half an hour, how ever do they fit it all in? For a while now, we as the public have known about the unfortunate death of Gail’s husband Joe but Gail herself hasn’t had a clue, until now.
Chat magazine leaked information about when the Corrie police took Gail and Tina to identify a body, that they both broke out into fits…..but this did not seem to be the case. Tina was screaming and then started to sing a song to her dad and Gail just looked completely shell shocked.
Things are about to hot up in the (death of Joe) sage, as it soon comes to police attention that Gail’s son, David, has been sending Tina fake texts (pretending to be her dad) – not the best information to come out when her husband is found dead. So obviously Gail is now under the suspicion of being a murderer.
So that’s the more dark side of Corrie this week, now I think we need a little bit of romance. Guess who kisses Dev this week? Sunita is guilty of kissing Dev, but that’s not all what’s on his mind at the moment – he thinks he’s won his family back! I wonder?
There seems to be a lot of smooching going on at Corrie at the mo, well at least their trying; Sunita may have succeeded with Dev but it’s a completely different story with Liz and Tyrone. How? Well when Liz goes in for a kiss with Tyrone, the situation completely backfires in her face – how embarrassing.
That’s about it, well that’s as much information as we can find out – but as this is soap land we are talking about, there are bound to be more surprises along the way. If you want to see Gail accused of murder, a steamy kiss or a kiss gone wrong, even an angry mum then Corrie is the soap to tune in to tonight.
