Must be the Music – New Talent TV Show

A new music show hit the TV earlier this week, it is Sky 2’s Must Be The Music. A singing talent show that offers a bit more versatility than X-factor which revolves around pop and classical music.

Must Be the Music is searching not just for the best set of lungs but also something new, and the show has welcomed bands, rap star hopefuls, and instrument geniuses.

Another bit of good news is that Simon Cowell plays no part in this show what so ever! The celebrity judges include pianist sensation Jamie Cullum, Scottish singer songwriter Sharleen Spiteri and rap star Dizzie Rascal who seems to be bringing the wit into the show.

Highlights from the first week of auditions were broadcasted on Monday and the show is on each night other than Thursday (selected nights are repeats of the previous show).

Like the X-Factor acts come out onto the stage in-front of the judges and a live audience hoping to impress, to get through to the next round they must gain at least two yeses from the judging panel.

The prize for the winner is £100,000 and the great chance to play at London’s Wembley Arena on the same stage which Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Kings Of Leon and Muse have all graced.

As mentioned above, Dizzie Racal lives up to at least the latter part of his name when he is sitting on the judging panel.

He told one not so good performer “That was crap man… crap!” He also informed the live audience “this isn’t Jerry Springer” as they get on his back for not putting an act through.

There have been a few names already that have impressed the judges and viewers at home, Missing Andy are a London based band that rocked the crowd with their own song Made in England. Whilst Pepper and Piano brought presenter Fearne Cotton to tears with their emotional performance.

Hilary Duff gets Married

After many years of acting in TV programmes (ex – Lizzie McGuire) and films, that either branched out from TV programmes or simply just independent projects, Hilary Duff is now a full grown women.

Some of her fans would say and believe that they have grown up with Hilary, seeing as she joined the acting industry at such a young age and is still in the business now – but for some of us, we would even say that she grew up a little too quickly. And now she is a married women!

As of Saturday the 14th August, Hilary Duff and her fiancé Mike Comrie married in the beautiful location of Santa Barbara, California and all in the presence of just 100 guests.

I’m guessing the pair just wanted their ceremony and celebration of each other’s love to be witnessed by their closest friends and family.

The whole evening must have been a stunning scene, as not only did the wedding take place at sunset, Hilary walked down the aisle with her mother in a Vera Wang dress (definitely must have been a special treat to look at) – a mermaid-style design.

I wonder if any pictures pop up soon of their wedding; I hope they do, it would be a lovely sight to see Hilary in that dress and all of her 5 bridesmaids too, in their gowns.

We all know by now, that the couple started dating back in the year of 2007 and then got engaged with each other on the following February, whilst vacating in Hawaii!

Hilary really must have had the dream fantasy experience with her sportsman boyfriend, well husband now, I should be saying.

At least they finally went all the way and tied the knot, and according to Female First, the pair has said nothing but good things about each other the whole time they have been together – and Hilary taking it a step further by saying that she’s “never met anyone who can say a bad word about him.”

Fans and Cast alike have known for quite some time now that new Coronation Street bossman was going to shake things up quite a bit and when I say shake things up, I mean as in axe a load of characters and throw in some terribly terrific story lines.

It seems that Vicky Entwistle has got as much as a load mouth and ‘take no nonsense’ personality as her character Janice Battersby; well according to the Sun newspaper, Vicky caused a scene and made a grand departure from a soap meeting, with Phil Collinson (new boss), last Friday.

Apparently, Vicky didn’t agree and did not want to go ahead with the story lines that Collinson wanted to go push on with – so after, what must have been a huge disagreement (in nice words) Vicky made her exit.

Even if she has been a part of the Corrie soap for over 13 years, the final say is always down to the boss. This information was leaked to the Sun newspaper when a source revealed,

“They had a furious row last week after Vicky demanded to know why her name had been scribbled off call sheets.”

Sadly this incident concluded the decision that “they couldn’t work together and Vicky felt she had no choice than to resign.”

Still, even though that is not the way that Vicky probably would have wanted to leave the soap, she is still looking for the good in it all, insisting that she has been “thinking about leaving for some time” now so that she could take on different works, so I suppose this was a little kick in the right direction.

It’s true that us Corrie fans shall miss Janice Battersbys, as well as the other older long term characters on the soap – but this is what Collinson thinks will be a grand hit, hopefully his right otherwise he is going to get a lot of smug looks of the cast members he axed.

Shane Richie Keeps Acting in the Family

It looks as if all the acting talent that Shane Richie has got (acting), has been passed on down to his 17 year old son!

That’s right, young Jake Roche has followed the same career path as his father, so you can bet both of his parents are proud! The first time he will appear on TV, will be next month in August – we’re not sure exactly when his first TV episode will air, so we really will have to stay tuned in to find out.

So just which TV show has young Jake joined then? Well he will be appearing in many episodes, yes it is a soap he has joined and no it is not the soap that his father worked on, so that rules out Eastenders and just leaves Emmerdale and Coronation Street. So which one could it be…Emmerdale!

He’ll be joining the country based soap and hopefully do some cheering up for one specific character – Hannah Barton.

When Jake joins the soap he will be taking on the character of a good-looking college student named Issac and his first storyline will immediately begin as his character and Grace Cassidy’s ‘Hannah Barton’ form a close relationship.

According to the Emmerdale producer, Jake’s character will “offer some light relief for Hannah as her family face their darkest hour.”

That dark time would be the drug abuse that Hannah’s sister Holly is facing and even though Hannah has got a new man in her life, all the attention seems to be given to Holly – so you can imagine that didn’t go down to well with Hannah!

So hopefully the comfort of Issac will keep Hannah happy, even if it’s just for a little while. Plus it seems that Jake himself, is simply “thrilled” to have secured an acting part such as this and sometimes he literally has to pinch himself to make sure that he is actually awake and it is not a dream. He said, according to Female First, that it is “all very surreal.”

Death in Coronation St

When actors leave soap shows, it has become somewhat of a tradition that most of them don’t tend to leave peacefully or quietly, but go out with a bang. We have seen some explosive episodes over the years and by the sounds of things corrie has got more lined up during the coming months.

So who’s going to be leaving the show with heaps of left behind drama? Well we have heard that shall be the character of Molly Dobbs who has been played by Vicky Binns for the last 5 years!

Even though her parting of the show is supposed to be tragic, the actress has said that she’s ok with it all and glad that her experience with Coronation Street has “been a joy”.

Molly’s ending in the soap, as of yet, is unknown and it will probably stay that way until her final day comes and we will watch that action unfold on our TV screens.

Although, Phil Collinson, who is the executive producer of Corrie, wrote a comment on the soaps official web page explaining that he doesn’t “want to give too much away” but there shall be a “dead body” turning up in the soap and hopefully the storyline turns out to be really “surprising and exciting”.

He also mentioned that this final storyline for Vicky’s character, Molly, will be taking place across the next year – so we still get to see how her love triangle/ pregnancy situation progresses and hopefully we will find out who the real father is too –Tyrone or Kevin?

Plus and that’s a question, if Molly is going to die at the end of this storyline, who is going to take care of her child or will her child die with her? Well Female First picked up on a rumour, that apparently after her tragic death, both Kevin and Sally will “take in the baby after Molly is killed”.

Though, I suppose we will just have to wait and see what happens – and at least Vicky knows that her characters baby will have a decent life, even though her character doesn’t know that yet!
