Comedian genius Michael McIntyre has told reporters that he wants to loose some weight before appearing as a judge on the up and coming series of Britain’s Got Talent.

According to The Daily Mirror he is worried about looking “enormous”… does he not realise he has been appearing on our screens for a good few years already? And besides he will be sitting behind a desk opposed to pacing the stages as a stand up comedian.

In his defence he will be sitting alongside other guest judge David Hasselhoff throughout the series. Amanda Holden is the other judge and not to forget the founder of course Simon Cowell

In an interview with Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2 McIntyre said landing the job had been “a bit of a whirlwind”.

Speaking about his weight and the show he told Evans “I have to lose weight because I keep imagining myself in that line up, when they have the live shows on Britain’s Got Talent and announce the judges. I don’t want me to be standing there, looking enormous, not being able to do up my jacket, which is the situation I’m in now. I want to look svelte”

He also spoke in the interview about when he went to have have talks about working on the show, he said “It was like judges’ houses on the X Factor, that’s how it felt. I kept telling myself I was going for a chat but when he was in front of me I couldn’t help but feel I was auditioning.”

The ITV show is one of the most popular TV talent shows, it racked up a huge 15 million viewers for the final earlier this year which saw gymnastic group Spelbound take the title. As usuall double act Ant and Dec will present the series.
