Mecca Bingo Wheel of a Difference
The team behind Mecca Bingo have been on one of the biggest charity drives for their chosen charity Whizz Kidz throughout 2009, which we have ever seen to date. It is their aim to make a ‘wheel of a difference’ for disabled children whom Whizz Kidz provides with wheelchairs, training and support.
Bingo Dave has been part of the Mecca Bingo team as their figurehead for years and he is currently being set challenges by them every month for their charity campaign. Bingo Dave has been dobbed ‘Dave Will Do It’ and this month the plucky guy went through a painful leg wax, where he put on a brave face as those hairs were pulled out……all in the aid of raising cash of course!
If you are a lady you will know just what have your legs waxed entails and it must be twice as bad for guys as they inevitably have more hair. So Bingo Dave certainly has lived up to his name sake on this one – Dave Will Do It!
More than ever charities like Whizz Kidz need the support companies such as Mecca Bingo and the general public. During this campaign Mecca Bingo have certainly help raise the profile of Whizz Kidz, which can only be great news for them.
Whizz Kidz is a children’s charity who provide disabled children up to the age of 18 with essential mobility equipment. They want to give disabled children back their independence so that they can enjoy a more active childhood. Whizz Kidz also run a wheelchair skills training program, which helps to give young disabled people sustained support on their life journey.
The game of bingo has long been associated with raising money for charity and it is good to see even during the time of a recession people are still putting their hands in their pockets and donating to worthwhile causes.
It will be interesting to see just what task Mecca Bingo have got lined up for Bingo Dave next month where hopefully even more cash will be raised for Whizz Kidz.
