Ladbrokes Bingo Appoint Headhunters JCA
Ladbrokes PLC, owners of Ladbrokes Bingo have just appointed headhunters JCA to search for a new Chief Executive after their CEO Christopher Bell announced he would be stepping down from this role later in the year.
Mr Bell is thought to be happy that his imminent departure from Ladbrokes is now out in the open and we now know likely candidates are already being lined up to fill his shoes. According to a report by the Telegraph, Ladbrokes Bingo want an external candidate for this position and they are even thought to be looking outside the gaming arena.
Marks and Spencer’s director Carl leaver and easy jets former boss Andy Harrison could both be possible Ladbrokes CEO candidates. Speaking to the Telegraph, Mr Bell said, “It was a great relief to have his looming departure this summer out in the open. I did think about becoming an MP but someone said I’d have to sort my expenses out,” he said with trademark wit.
Ladbrokes shareholders are thought to be very unhappy at the moment due to the Companies recent performances, especially since they came below rivals William Hill. All gaming businesses have been going through tough times over the past few years, in particular casino and bingo divisions.
It has been said that Ladbrokes are in dept to the tune of £962 million, which you could say is a similar dept ridden situation Gala Bingo bosses have been facing. Ladbrokes are one of the most trusted and well know gaming brands in the UK and unlike Gala there is no talk about a sell off by investors looming.
Mr Stewart, the executive deputy chairman of stockbroker Cenkos said, “It was no surprise that some investors were cross. Ladbrokes said they weren’t going to have a rights issue and they had a one-for-two. Nobody has a great deal of joy when the share price underperforms peers like William Hill.”
Ladbrokes Bingo online remains as one of the top bingo sites on the net at present and there has certainly been no short comings of bingo offers or promotion from this front. So whilst dept may be an issue, front line players are not feeling the effect.
