Gala Bingo Increase Charity Games

The chosen charity for Gala Bingo is Sue Ryder Care and what a charity drive they have been on in recent months. In a bid to raise a further half a million pounds for this year, Gala will now be increasing the amount of charity games run at their online bingo site.

In 2009, Gala Bingo smashed through their £1 million pound target for Sue Ryder Care and they achieved this by going on a number of different charity initiatives. Their bingo team even climbed the highest mountain in the world (Mount Everest) to get in the Guinness book of world records for holding the highest altitude bingo game ever (whilst raising loads of cash).

All in the name of raising funds for charity of course and this is just one of the many fundraising stunts they have pulled with the help of their employees and members. Gala Bingo will now be running a dedicated charity linked online bingo game daily at 7.24pm throughout all their 11 90 ball bingo rooms and these will continue to air for the foreseeable future.

Gala Bingo have pledged to give 10% of all ticket sales on these charity bingo games to Sue Ryder Care and this should certainly help tot up their charity fundraising total for them this year.

Dr Colin Morgan, head of corporate responsibility for Gala Coral Group, said: “We’re proud to help Sue Ryder Care make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people each year. By increasing the frequency of the Sue Ryder Care Link Game from weekly to daily we are expecting galabingo.com to make a significant contribution to the overall Gala Coral Group target of £1.5miliion. We know the games are popular and we’re expecting our customers to be as enthusiastic as ever about supporting the charity.”

Sue Ryder Care became the chosen charity for Gala Bingo after their employees voted for them back in May 2008. As we know Gala Bingo have already toppled their £1 million pound target mark and we wish them the best of luck in reaching the £1.5 m figure before the end of 2010.
