Gala Bingo Bosses go back to Basics
In a bid to raise even more cash for their chosen charity Sue Ryder Care, Gala Bingo bosses went back to bingo basics for one night only. On Wednesday 2nd December, 10 of their company directors hit the bingo floor at the Gala Bingo club in Woking, Surrey. A couple of them turned their hand to bingo calling for two dedicated charity games and the other bosses all took to serving food and drinks to their customers.
This latest charity endeavour by Gala Bingo directors managed to raise nearly £2,000 on the night, which will be added to the charity pot. It is the aim of Gala Bingo to raise at least £1 million pounds for Sue Ryder Care by 2010, so they will certainly be pulling out all the bingo stops over the next few weeks to try and hit that target.
Sue Ryder Care are a national charity who helps to support people with specialist palliative, end of life and long-term neurological care needs. Each year it is thought they provide over 4 million hours of care to people living with a number of illnesses including Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, Huntingdon’s disease, strokes, brain injury and motor neurone disease to name just a few.
Gala Coral Group’s Chief Information Officer who called one of the dedicated charity games, Damian Cope, said, “It was a fantastic evening. It was a great way to learn even more about our business directly from our customers and staff, while raising a fantastic amount for our group charity, Sue Ryder Care. We all really enjoyed the experience and want to thank everyone for their generosity and for making the evening such a great success.”
At the end of the bingo session an auction took place, with all proceeds going to Sue Ryder Care. BT and SCC were just a couple of companies who donated items for the Gala Bingo auction which see bidding wars erupt with players trying to get their hands on some super goodies that included a 19inc LCD TV, Samsung Netbook, smoothie maker and a Wii Fit to name just a few.
It is thought a great Gala Bingo night was had by all who were involved in this fun charity line up.
