Eminem asked Elton John for Advice
This is news to me, although some people would say they saw it coming, Eminem was reportdly addicted to prescription drugs!
Being in the music business, having a family, friends and fans it must have been hard for Eminem to come forward and speak about this problem (so that he could get it sorted), but they weren’t the only reasons that made it hard for him to speak out.
It was the fact that he was in the ‘hip hop’ industry, that put all the pressure on him and that was because he believed that if you admitted to something like that you were “weak” or at least seen as “weak” it would not be good for your image.
But Eminem had to come forward, otherwise and said straightforwardly, he would have died! He eventually knew this, so he had to open up. At least he was smart enough and brave enough to let someone know about his addiction, someone that could him through it. And that person was Elton John!
That’s right; Eminem went to Elton for advice on how to overcome his addiction for painkillers. When talking to ‘Showbiz Tonight’ (a US TV show) Eminem revealed the following,
“When I first wanted to get sober, I called him and spoke to him about it because; he’s somebody who’s in the business and can identify and relate to the lifestyle.”
Plus, Eminem also mentioned that himself and Elton “became friends”, so that would have made it easier for Eminem to let Elton in and support him. As well as the fact that Elton had a rocky past too and he overcome it, Eminem probably saw Elton as a role model, someone to look up to as he is now and was very successful, so if he can do it why can’t Eminem?
Well that he did, and now after he “reached out” to Elton Eminem is back in his stride, well, at least we hope he is and wish him well.
