Costa Bingo are a free online bingo / real play sensation on the net and news has recently filtered through about their plans for the future. Costa Bingo run on globlacom bingo software, which is provided for them from the independent B2B division of (888) – namely Dragonfish.
The team at Costa Bingo have now signed a three year contract extension with Dragonfish, so by the looks of things this bingo product has proved to be the one for them. To add even more spice into the playing mix at their site, Costa also plan to open even more bingo rooms later in the year, which proves they are definitely moving forwards and not backwards, unlike some.
At present players at Costa Bingo enjoy the choice of around 15 online bingo rooms and these are a combination of freebie bingo and real play bingo. You have to hand it to the team behind Costa Bingo as their site certainly caught the imagination of bingo players on the net……….and this is largely down to the free/real bingo line they come up with.
Costa Bingo launched on the World Wide Web in June 2009, so to begin with they obviously only signed a one year deal with Dragonfish to see how things went. But due to the undoubted popularity of their online bingo site, they took the decision to extend this contract which will now run until June 2013.

The only other bingo software available online which really gives globalcom a run for its money is virtue fusion……….in fact I do believe virtue currently top the bingo software poll…………however the ease of game play on globalcom cannot just be beaten.

Gala Bingo have decided to team up with Sheree Murphy and offer their bingo players an escape from the World Cup football action which will be kicking off imminently. Some online bingo sites really could become a refuge for ladies and a few men of course, over the next few weeks as there is not going to be much to watch on TV once the World Cup begins, unless you do love football that is.

It seems that 888 are not the only online bingo operator who wants to give their image a re-vamp as Gala Bingo have also chosen to change their names logo. Unless you are an avid Gala Bingo player you probably would not have noticed the change in their logo as it is quite subtle really……..so it does beg the question, why bother?
When a business changes their logo and in this case we are talking about Gala Bingo, it certainly does not come cheap as all sorts of merchandise usually needs changing from letter heads to compliment slips and that’s just the beginning.
The new Gala Bingo logo does look a big jazzier than before with more of an italic look to it rather than being uniformed and in bold………..but still until it was actually pointed out to me via an email from Gala, I would have definitely not picked up on the change.
Throughout the month of June and into July Gala Bingo will also be going on a World Cup campaign like never before and they have enlisted the help of Sheree Murphy (Emmerdale and Hollyoaks) star to help them along their way.
Sheree will be the face of Gala Bingo for the duration of the World Cup and whilst her own hubby is away participating in the event for his home team Australia, Sheree will be down her local Gala Bingo club with her mates.
Each day during the World Cup Gala Bingo will be putting on a different World Cup winning game for their members to enjoy………in fact they have stated that over £75,000 worth of jackpots will be up for grabs throughout the month.

Gala Bingo has taken the decision to opt out of the nectar rewards scheme and this will come into effect from 31st May. Any Nectar points earned with Gala Bingo up until this date will still be valid and can used to spend in any shop still participating in the scheme like Sainsbury’s, but as from 1st June you will not be able to use your nectar points in any Gala Bingo club.
As to why Gala Bingo have decided to pull out of this scheme is not clear and we are sure lots of their players will be left a tad disappointed. Gala Bingo said, “We continue to listen to your feedback and remain committed to bringing you great value bingo, everyday.”
In the past Gala Bingo have run a number of promotions relating to nectar rewards they even produced the first ever one million points nectar card winner. The nectar points scheme was an exclusive feature at Gala Bingo and one lots of their players reaped the benefits from.
Nectar points were clocked up as members simply played bingo with them, be that offline or online and as nectar points can be redeemed and used as payment at a number of different outlets……….it is a great loyalty based scheme to be a part off. After all nectar rewards is brought to the consumer, completely free.
500 nectar points is equal to £2.50 in cash and they can be used on anything from travel to entertainment. To join the nectar scheme you simply need to register with them and then when you shop at any participating outlets you just swipe your nectar card and pick up those all important points as you go.
Nectar is owned by Groupe Aeroplan Inc and they are a leading coalition loyalty programme within the UK. Gala Bingo as a company have been going through some very troubled times lately like many bingo operators, but it is a sad day to see such a great bingo related loyalty scheme like the one Gala and nectar had going to bite the bingoing dust.

I would say that the online bingo market place is now saturated with bingo sites and although this does give bingo players a wide bingoing choice………….lots of these online bingo sites offer the same thing as each other.
Many online bingo sites are simply skins of one another, so apart from a different online bingo brand name and homepage look………..they offer the exact same thing, which can’t be in anybody’s interest now can it? Well maybe expect for the owners of these sites who are looking to make big bucks, but that is not always the case!
Over the past few years we have seen hundreds of new online bingo sites on the net, but a fair portion of these have not made the online bingo grade and subsequently closed down. This can be very upsetting and unsettling for online bingo players as a bingo site closure can be a headache for all players at the site in question with regards to funds still being in their account, personal details held and any pending withdrawals waiting to be added back to their credit cards or bank accounts.
At present there are two main players within the online bingo market place (bingo software wise) and they are virtue fusion and globalcom. There are now so many virtue fusion based software sites on the net I would say that they are the majority online bingo shareholders so to speak, with globalcom bingo software not that far behind.
There are both standalone and networked virtue fusion and globalcom sites on the net and some of the biggest names within the bingo industry have chosen these software products to run their sites on.
In the globalcom field we have Mr Fox with Foxy Bingo and the rest of their kit and caboodle, think bingo, bingo Scotland, cheeky bingo, little big bingo and foxy zero. From Daub Ltd there is Wink Bingo, Posh Bingo, Tasty Bingo, Red Bus Bingo and Bingo Fabulous. And this is still only the tip of the globalcom software based bingo iceberg.
Move over to virtue fusion and we have Ladbrokes Bingo, Mecca Bingo, Crown Bingo, Bet365 Bingo, BOGOF Bingo, Bingo Chest, Golden hat Bingo, Bloke Bingo and Virgin Bingo to name just a fraction!
Add all the rest of the online bingo sites into the mix and you can see why I feel the online bingo market place is flooded! So new bingo sites now hitting the net are not going to have an easy time of it that’s for sure……….what the online bingo industry needs is some good new software bingo blood to shake things up a bit and stop the bingo monopoly which is currently going on.
