If there were not enough networked online bingo sites on the net already, we have heard news today of yet another site getting ready to launch and this one is called, Up Your Bingo. However, this site is not being brought to us by one of the usual bingo suspects, but from MTV Music Television.
Yes by the looks of things MTV Music will be delving into the online game world with their very own online bingo site and this is due to run on globalcom bingo software as part of the Dragonfish network.
MTV have signed a contract with 888 Holdings, the B2B subsidiary of Dragonfish to launch their bingo product, but my question was – are they going to offer online bingo players something different than what is already available to them now?
Well to be honest, the answer to that is a resounding no. Being part of the dragonfish network means that lots of online bingo sites already running on this particular network already offer the exact same thing from their promotions down to their game play. So other than different look homepages, what lies beneath the site is the same.
So you could log onto Bingo Fabulous right now for instance and get exactly what (Up Your Bingo) is going to offer. In my humble opinion you just cannot beat a standalone bingo site on the net, as these networked sites just do not have the same edge.
As MTV Music do have a lot of clought and advertising opportunities through their TV channel, they may just make it in this networked online bingo playing field………………but I for one won’t be holding my breath. If you are a fan of MTV, then get ready to be bombarded with advertisements for their online bingo site (Up Your Bingo) over the coming months, as these are due to be extensive.
However, I must say I do like their choice of online bingo site name. Up Your Bingo has a funny kind of ring to it and it definitely does not conform to the norm, which is not always a bad thing. Up Your Bingo have gone with an all grey background and aluminous yellow mixed in with bright pink for their homepage look.

The World Cup football tournament is now in full swing as the group stages have drawn to a close and we have just entered the final stages of this competition. We may not yet know who the World Cup winners are, but what we do know is that there has already been a World Cup Gala Bingo online winner.
One very lucky player from Leeds scooped a massive £82,000 cash jackpot, just moments after logging onto Gala Bingo online…………and all I can say is, “what a win – Congratulations”.
The 48 year old grandmother asked to remain anonymous, so Gala Bingo have not released details of her name, but they did speak to her about her massive online bingo win and she said -
“I’ve got four children and two grandchildren and we have always dreamed of going away together. We’ve never had a big family holiday and without this money we would not have been able to go. I’ve just booked a trip for us all to Disneyland Paris and my grandchildren are over the moon.”
She added: “Things like this just don’t happen to me. This win really has changed my life! It’s been a great start to the summer and the World Cup. I just hope the England team continue to be as lucky as I’ve been this World Cup! It just goes to show that anyone can win at Gala Bingo online.”
Sounds like the win could not have gone to a nicer lady, but unfortunately England did not have the same luck in the World Cup and are now home in somewhat of a disgrace.

They even enlisted the help of Sheree Murphy, wife of Australian football star, Harry Kewell. Australia however, is now out of the World Cup………..just like England.

After a very turbulent few years the Gala Coral group, owners of Gala Bingo have finally completed their restructuring plans and this has now resulted in Mezzanine holders taking control of their company.
In a press release from Gala Bingo, it stated that Mezzanine debt holders have now converted their £558m holding into equity, plus they have also injected a further £200m in cash into the group, which will be going down to pay senior debt.
As a result of this move, the net debt which Gala Bingo stood is set to be reduced by over £700m to circa £1.9b and senior secured debt will reduce to circa £1.5b which is less than 5x last 12 months EBITDA of circa £310m.
With these latest developments the Gala Coral group should be much more stable and we are sure many of their employees will now be breathing a sigh of relief.
Commenting on the restructure, Gala Coral’s Executive Chairman, Neil Goulden, said:
“I am delighted that, after nearly 12 months, we have successfully concluded one of the largest and most complex restructurings in UK corporate history. The restructured Group is now in a strong position and fully able to compete in an increasingly competitive and global gambling market. We have 17,000 employees, nearly 2,200 retail outlets, over 3.5 million active customers and some of the best known gambling brands in Europe in Gala, Coral and Eurobet. When combined with our strong cash flow, reduced levels of debt, and over £200m in cash, we are very well positioned to invest in growth as the UK and global markets come out of recession.”

A very bold statement from the man at the top and hopefully this should now secure the future of land based Gala Bingo clubs for years to come.

Throughout the duration of the World Cup Gala Bingo are on their very own campaign which runs by the slogan – While the boys are away, it’s time to play. No matter what Gala Bingo establishment you frequent, be that online, offline (at their land based bingo clubs) or even on Gala Bingo TV, they have got something (World Cup) related going on.
Gala Bingo TV are offering the football fatigued the chance to win a VIP makeover worth around £5,000. A special 20p game is set to play every Friday night during June at sometime between 8pm and 9pm on their TV makeover bingo show.
