888 Ladies Bingo Outperforms Core Products
888 Ladies Bingo have been outperforming other core products from the 888 gaming brand, but despite this it looks like 888 are going to go on a cost cutting mission………….every little helps as they say. 888 Ladies Bingo, sports betting, and the B2B division (Dragonfish) may have been on the up and up, but 888 have still experienced disappointing trading figures in the second quarter of this year.
According to Reuters, 888 have reported that trading has been down by around 13% for the first 25 days of the second quarter and this has led them to give their business a (costing) overhaul.
Chief Executive of 888, Gigi Levy said, “While Q1 saw improvement on a year-on-year basis, B2C trading remains challenging across our product range. He also went on to say in his statement last Wednesday – “We believe that the right steps are being taken to counter the current challenges we face and the board remains confident in 888′s strategy.”
When trading is down it always affects the shares of the business in question, so 888 also see a 2% drop in shares last week to 91.8 pence. 888’s company however is still valued around the £312 million pound mark, so not pocket change by anyones standards – Even Mr Simon Cowells, who himself has reportedly earned approximately £40 million pounds already this year.
Since hitting the net 888 Ladies Bingo has gone on to become one of the top bingo sites rivalling even the likes of Foxy Bingo. So it is no surprise really that this part of 888 has been performing well for them. Dragonfish has also struck up quite a few good deals lately and this all aids the bingo side of their products.
Dragonfish provides a complete online bingo solution and many bingo sites run on their software (globalcom) including Wink Bingo, Tasty Bingo, Little Big Bingo, Cheeky Bingo, Foxy Bingo, Bingo Scotland, etc, etc etc. They also have an online bingo network, which Bingo Fabulous still runs on, where as its sister sites, wink, posh and tasty are all currently standalone.
Bingo Fabulous were due to move from the globalcom online bingo network to a standalone site also, but as to whether this will still go ahead remains to be seen.
